Well, that&#039;s called Desktop. Lazarus saves your desktop every time you close the IDE, so the next time you load it it will appear exactly as you left it. At first it looks good, but if you do \u201cpoop\u201d in the IDE, it will be \u201cpoop\u201d on the next run. That&#039;s why I recommend turning off desktop autosave as soon as you can.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To turn it off, go to\u00a0<strong>Tools-&gt;Desktop(Tools-&gt;Desktop):<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/gladiston.github.io\/hello_lazarus\/assets\/desktop1.png\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Click \u201cSave active desktop as\u201d and keep the same profile name, ie \u201cdefault\u201d. After that, never save another profile over the default, it will be your panic room to use when things go wrong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And then uncheck the option&nbsp;<strong>\u201cAuto save active desktop\u201d<\/strong>&nbsp;to disable autosave, this is a personal recommendation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>When you&#039;ve tweaked the IDE to make it ready for use taking into account the context of your work, then it&#039;s time to save your desktop under a different name and avoid overwriting previous desktops whenever possible unless you don&#039;t use them anymore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Still having trouble understanding?
